National Infertility Awareness Week runs from April 21st through April 27th, 2013.
RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association is taking advantage of this important week by encouraging folks to become both more aware and more sensitive to the issue of infertility.
Established in 1974, RESOLVE is a non-profit organization that is committed to reproductive health and equal access to all family building options for men and women that are in the midst of infertility or other reproductive issues.
According to RESOLVE, “infertility affects approximately 10% of the population. Since infertility strikes diverse groups-affecting people from all socioeconomic levels and cutting across all racial, ethnic and religious lines- chances are great that a friend, relative, neighbor or perhaps you are attempting to cope with the medical and emotional aspects of infertility.”
Adoption STAR is happy to partner with RESOLVE in an effort to publicize National Infertility Awareness Week. A great tool to review as a part of the week is RESOLVE’s “Infertility Etiquette” page on their website, which provides great tips to family and friends of individuals that are dealing with infertility or an infertility-related issue. Here’s a link to the page.
