We live in a suburban neighborhood with other families that have young children, as well as families that have grown children and some empty nesters. Our home is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom single family home. Our street is shaped like a horseshoe and we live on the interior of the horseshoe. There is very little traffic. We also have about a ½ acre of land and we have a pool in the backyard. There is also a swing set for Katie; she calls it her jungle gym. All of the schools are A rated. We spend down time going for walks, playing at local parks, watching our favorite TV shows and meeting up with family and friends.
Family is important to us. We believe in the saying it takes a village to raise a child. We like to see our families as often as possible and they are a big part of Katie’s life. Mindy’s two sisters both live less than three miles from us and we see them a great deal. We take a large family vacation to New Hampshire on most of our Christmas holidays. Friends are also an important part of our lives. Katie has made friends at school, Don has childhood friends that still live in the area, and Mindy has mostly work-connected friends. Both of Mindy’s sisters’ friends are also
involved in our lives.
We like to take vacations to the west coast of Florida and stay right on the beach. Katie loves looking for shells on Sanibel Island. We have been to Conway, New Hampshire for Christmas and to Philadelphia to visit family. We also took a trip to
the Grand Canyon and Sedona, Arizona.
