We live in a spacious 3 bedroom house on 3 beautiful acres. There are many young children in the neighborhood and there is even a "Children At Play" sign right next to our house. We live on a very quiet street with little traffic and friendly neighbors who always wave when you drive by. Across the street from us are three little boys, and next door to us are three little girls. Lots of potential friends!
We live in a thriving college town in upstate New York. It is home to numerous colleges, excellent public schools, young families, and stunning natural surroundings. There are numerous festivals held downtown throughout the year, live outdoor performances in the summer, and a variety of hiking trails that often lead to breathtaking waterfalls.
Adoption has a very special place in our family. In 1984, Skott's parents adopted his sister Jamie from South Korea. Skott can still remember being 5-years-old with a big grin on his face waiting for his baby sister to come off the plane. Both of our parents have been married for 50 years and we have a large network of supportive friends and family. We feel very fortunate to have the full support of both families as we build our life together and raise children. Steve has one sister (Tracey), and Skott has one brother (Joshua) and one sister (Jamie). We also have aunts, uncles, and cousins close by including our adorable nephews and nieces who can be seen in a few pictures in our profile. Finally, our sweet and cuddly cat Riley is eager to be a big brother.
We feel so lucky to have a large network of friends not only here in New York but all across the country. Our friends come from many different backgrounds and we can't wait for our baby to learn and appreciate the beauty of diversity. Nearly all of our friends have had children in the past few years so we look forward to many play dates!
