Family is everything to us, and we feel together is the best place to be. We get together with our families weekly for dinner and we can't wait to add one more seat to the table!
Sarah's parents live on a nearby lake, and our summer is spent enjoying the water on the family boat. We spend a lot of time with Sarah's brothers and sister in law, along with our niece, who is 9 months younger than Johnny. There are always lots of laughs when we all get together!
Nate's mom and stepdad live a few miles away in the house Nate grew up in. His brother is a teacher in Virginia, and spends the summer at his mom's house. Nate's dad and stepmom live in Atlanta, and also enjoy spending time at their cabin in the Smoky Mountains.
We live in a 4 bedroom home in central New York. Our neighborhood is filled with young children playing outside and riding bikes. We have a large backyard to accommodate an active family. We love our community! Our school district is well respected and offers many wonderful opportunities. We have a membership to the local zoo, and there are ski slopes, golf courses, hiking and biking trails, and seasons full of community events.
Seasons of Fun
Each season includes fun traditions for our family. Summer is filled with swimming, boating, lawn games, outdoor fun, and family cookouts. As a teacher, Sarah is lucky to be home all summer. Fall is beautiful in upstate New York, and we spend every weekend immersed in fun activities. From apple picking and pumpkin farms, to hiking mountains in the Adirondacks, we make sure to enjoy everything our area has to offer. Winter brings the joy of Christmas, and we have so many fun Christmas traditions. We cut down our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving and enjoy decorating and baking cookies. On Christmas Eve we attend the children's mass at church and enjoy dinner and games with our family. Christmas morning is all about the magic of Santa! We spend the day playing and laughing with family. Spring is when we take out the bikes, outdoor toys, and enjoy the warmer weather. As the evenings get longer, the extra daylight is filled with family walks and bike rides around our neighborhood.
