Many many times I have noticed Adoptive Parents posting pictures of their child’s birth parents at the hospital or on day of discharge on Facebook. This is just a reminder to always check with the Birth Parents first to make sure they are okay with it being posted.
I had a birth mother call me once to let me now she saw a video of herself on the Adoptive Parents blog showing the day of the discharge. She was very emotional and crying at this time and stated that this was an intimate moment between her, the child and the family and she didn’t appreciate it being shared for everyone to see.
Please be respectful of the birth parents feelings by asking them if it okay to share the photos on Facebook or any other type of social media.
