This weekend the Adoption STAR team was on puppy patrol. The dog lovers were out raising funds and awareness for the SPCA.
As the SPCA’s longest-running fundraiser, the Paws in the Park Walk presented by Keller Technology Corporation invites people to come with (or without) their dog to a two-mile walk at Beaver Island State Park each year. Adoption STAR had a team of dog lovers who showed up this past Saturday, September 28, 2013 to participate in this amazing event.
It was a beautiful day and we were amazed by how calm everyone was and were in awe at the minimal barking! It was perfect weather and the pups connected with old and new friends. The day included treats and gifts for our canine friends, lunch for participants, the opportunity to interact with pet-related vendors and exhibitors, judged dog tricks, costumes, dog-owner look-alike and waggiest tail contests, an agility course for the dogs, and inflatable bounce house shaped like a dog!
Adoption STAR was proud to attend and participate and made a $1,000.00 donation to our friends at the SPCA.
Thank you all who joined the Adoption STAR team (though it was hard to find some of our team in the midst of the thousand of dogs and humans that attended!) We hope to be there next year too!
